Three Cups Drawing

For this drawing we had only 30 minutes to create it following the four rules of composition. The objects I decided to draw were a little glass jar, a plastic container, and a disposable cup from Burger King. I like my detail lines on the glass jar but if I could change anything it would be adding shadows and cleaning up my lines and eraser marks.

Still Life Drawing

This was our first full length drawing. We had three class periods to show what all we could do. The objects that I decided to draw are a paintbrush, pink eraser, and miniature paint bottle. While we drawing the normal lights were turned off allowing the overhead lights to really shine through. What I noticed in my work is I had a really good value of shades from my light white highlight to my dark cast shadows. Also, if I could fix anything in my work it would be making my objects larger to fill the page more.

One Point Perspective

For this drawing, we worked on one point perspective. What this means is that the further away something is the smaller it becomes. In our drawings, we had to have a vanishing point which is where my road and telephone polls lead to. The reason why I chose to take this picture is that I like how it is not one hundred percent focused on one point perspective, thanks to the no passing zone sign. One thing that I really liked my spacing. While on the other hand, I should've tried to have a larger scale of values throughout the drawing as a whole.

Self Portatrait

For three days we drew self portraits. This was the first time that I have ever attempted to create one. I think that I did well on my proportions from my mouth to my eyes. Also, I like the realistic shading a had in my eye sockets and below my nose. One thing that I do not like is that my self portrait doesn't really look much like me.

Two Point Perspective

My two point perspective drawing was a corner of a brick wall with two posters on it. One of these posters was an image of a hand holding a flower, which is how I added in the human anatomy piece. Even though this was my first time drawing a brick wall in two point perspective I feel that I did it well. I believe this because of how I used the whole value scale in my bricks and they were all evenly spaced leading the the vanishing points.

Charcoal Drawing

Since it's our last drawing I decided to challenge myself and try to draw a turtle somewhat swimming in water. I used both a white and black charcoal pencil on the gray paper and a blending stick. For me, the hardest part of this drawing was using the correct values and blending. Even though I was not able to fully complete this drawing I think that still looks good and is my best work. Overall, I am glad that I challenged myself and chose this image to draw.
